Company History
KIOTI® was founded in 1947 as Daedong Industrial in Daegu, South Korea. The company began manufacturing heavy equipment following the end of World War II and their machinery proved useful throughout Korea. Daedong entered the American market in the 1980s with the introduction of their first compact tractor.
The company established its United States headquarters in Wilson, North Carolina, in 1993 as Daedong-USA, Inc. This helped them to gain more footing in Western markets, along with their American trade name of KIOTI, which is pronounced like "coyote." They have since opened new American headquarters in Wendell, North Carolina, as of 2004. The company's dealer network in the whole of North America includes over 350 dealers and they celebrated 25 years in the United States in 2011.
Product Lines
KIOTI® currently manufactures a number of different types of products to suit all sorts of agricultural and construction work needs. They began with compact tractors before expanding into other types of tractors, then they added a line of utility vehicles (UTVs) to the mix.
In 2000, KIOTI introduced loaders, backhoes and lawn mowers to their catalog, soon followed by rotary cutters, box blades, rear blades, rakes, aerators and tillers. And in 2008, KIOTI debuted its four-year warranty, which is an industry leader. They were awarded with Gold Level Status due to their high dealer rating levels by the North American Equipment Dealers Association (NAEDA) for three straight years due to the quality of their customer service.
